The Raspberry Cart Company Limited

Several years ago when we were just starting out raspberry farming, we decided to sell punnets of raspberrys on the main road in Tapawera, for a little extra income.

Wilsons mother had an old cart which had been used to put milk bottles on the side of the road, for the raspberry pickers staying in the farm batches for the harvesting season. We decided to convert the cart into a mobile stall and we have used this to sell from since, and it is also where we got the name for our company.

Not long after we started selling our fresh berrys, we started getting feedback from our regular customers that the berrys were great but that some homemade jam would also be good. Kylie started making raspberry and boysenberry jam and it soon became very popular with the locals, so we decided to try selling it at a some other outlets in the Nelson area. This was also quite succesful and the business has grown from there.
